Providence Breakthrough

Providence Breakthrough offers outpatient adult services that are structured to allow
clients to continue participating in their real life environment while receiving treatment for problems related to drugs and alcohol.

Addiction is a bio/psycho/social/spiritual disease which affects the whole individual as well as related family and social systems. Therefore, successful recovery occurs when treatment is focused on individual and family needs in addition to abstinence from addictive chemicals.

We at Breakthrough endorse the medical model of addiction and support the 12 Step process of recovery. Our standard of care has been constantly evolving since our inception in 1989 and we have developed a clinical program which provides the premiere level of outpatient treatment for the state of Alaska. As a result of client, staff, and community input, treatment programs and clinical processes have been created which are client centered and team driven.

Because trust and boundary development are essential parts of one’s recovery process, clients are assigned to a primary therapist that the treatment team feels would best meet that client’s individual needs. Breakthrough counselors are certified in the field of addiction treatment. The staff is diverse in background, training, and interest as well as therapeutic treatment modality which provides a truly holistic, comprehensive clinical environment. The result is that each client has the benefit of an individual primary therapist and a family therapist as well as the participation of the entire clinical team in that client’s recovery process.

  • Assessment
  • Outpatient treatment for drug and alcohol abuse
  • Family support
