Cancer rehabilitation has been defined as "a team approach to helping both the patient and family remain as independent as possible with the limitations of the disease, functionally, emotionally, spiritually, and socially, throughout the continuum of care." Rehabilitation services help patients cope with activities of daily living affected by the cancer experience. It enables them to resume normal activities.

Oncology Rehabilitation Program
Improve and enhance your quality of life during cancer treatment and recovery through a prescriptive exercise rehabilitation program. Our comprehensive 10-week program combines aerobic exercise, muscle strengthening, relaxation techniques and range of motion exercises. We also incorporate mind and body healing through guided imagery, meditation and use of affirmations. A licensed physical therapist and registered nurse, both with extensive experience and training in oncology rehabilitation, supervise the classes. Each participant will receive an initial assessment, individualized plan and exercise prescription in addition to the 10-week group classes. A physician referral is required to participate in the program. Upon completion of the 10 week Oncology rehabilitation program, participants are encouraged to continue to exercise during the Open Gym hours.
