Inpatient Unit
A 12-bed unit within Providence Alaska Medical Center provides individualized cancer care and is managed by an oncology trained nurse.
 
Medical Social Worker
Provides resources and guidance for social and emotional issues associated with illness. A social worker is available for patients and families at each step of the disease process. Ask your physician or nurse for a consult with the Cancer Center social worker.
 
Spiritual Care
The chaplains provide support to patients and families, contact your personal clergy if you request, and offer supportive services. The music thanatology – music to the seriously ill and dying – is available through the Spiritual Care department.
 
Ethics
This discipline is available to patients, families, caregivers, and health care professionals who are facing difficult decisions about what treatments are in the best interest of the patient.
