Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Providence Alaska Medical Center.
Volunteers are asked to make a 100 hour and a minimum 6-month commitment; some departments require a 12-month commitment. Assignments are once or twice weekly the same day and time for 2-4 hours.
If you are able to meet this obligation please complete the following to get started:
Print and complete the application packet. This includes:
Obtain required immunizations listed below.
- 2 MMR vaccinations, or a titer (blood draw) verifying immunity to Rubella, Rubeola and Mumps
- 2 Varicella vaccines or a titer (blood draw) verifying immunity to Varicella (chicken pox)
- 2 TB tests (PPD) - One anytime within the past year and a current one is required.
Students in high school and college are encouraged to get their TB tests at their school. Please call or email with questions regarding immunizations.
Once your application packet is complete you may call Linda McDevitt at 212-8415 or email
linda.mcdevitt@providence.org to schedule an appointment. During the appointment, if packet is complete, you will be given the form to be fingerprinted (if you are 16 or over) and scheduled for orientation.
Regular and reliable attendance is essential to the success of the volunteer program. Thank you for choosing to volunteer at Providence Alaska Medical Center.
