The South Central Alaska Area Health Education Center (SCAHEC ) is sponsored by Providence Health & Services Alaska under the Providence Alaska Learning Institute (PALI).
SCAHEC serves South Central Alaska’s health workforce in Cook Inlet including Anchorage, Matanuska-Susitna Valley, Kenai Peninsula, Prince William Sound, Copper River Valley, and Kodiak Island.
AHECs address health care workforce issues by exposing students to health care career opportunities that they otherwise would not have encountered, establishing community-based training sites for students in service-learning and clinical capacities, providing continuing education programs for health care professionals, and evaluating the needs of underserved communities.
