Anchorage

The Providence Maternity Center knows that you want the best of everything for your new baby. That's why we have the Nursing Boutique & Clinic

Before your baby is born
Plan on attending one of our monthly "Breastfeeding 101" classes. This class, taught by a certified lactation consultant, will teach you what you need to know to get breastfeeding off to a great start.

In the delivery room
Our labor and delivery nurses are trained to help you with your baby's first feeding.

On the Mother-Baby Unit
Our mother-baby nurses are all trained to help you with breastfeeding 24 hours a day.

One of our board certified lactation consultants will check on you to see how breastfeeding is going. They are available 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., seven days a week (except major holidays).

Once you are home
Not sure if breastfeeding is going just right? Come in for a private consultation with one of our lactation consultants in the Nursing Boutique & Clinic. Call 907-212-5886 to make an appointment.

Kodiak Island

We are committed to providing every family with the education and support they need to provide the best nutrition for their baby. Our certified lactation consultant, experienced nurses and trained peer counselors are available 7 days a week to provide assistance with breastfeeding and bottle feeding. We can help solve feeding problems and make sure you and your baby get off to a good start. All Kodiak families, whether they deliver at PKIMC or off-island, have the special opportunity to enroll in a free breastfeeding and infant nutrition support program called the Kodiak KINDNESS Project. KINDNESS provides services throughout your baby’s entire first year. Call (907) 539-2660 for more information on this program, found only in Kodiak.
