Laboratory Services
Your diagnosis and treatment can depend on accurate laboratory testing. Here at Providence Seward Medical Center, the experts in our Laboratory Services Department use state-of-the-art equipment to deliver the highest quality results possible.
We offer a wide range of diagnostic and monitoring tests here in our lab for patients at Providence Seward Medical Center. We also process lab requests from any authorized medical provider.
The tests we perform in our lab include:
- A1C for diabetes monitoring
- Basic and complete metabolic panels
- Complete blood counts with WBC differentials
- Kidney function tests
- Liver function tests
- PT/INR for coagulation medication monitoring
- Therapeutic drug levels
For specialized testing, we send the specimens to Providence Alaska Medical Center, LabCorp or ARUP Laboratories.
You can walk-in and have a lab test without an order from a provider through our Lab Tests on Demand (LTOD) program. You don’t need an appointment, and except for testing vitamin D levels, your results are typically available the same day. You can pick up your results or have them mailed to you.

- Complete blood count (CBC)
- Comprehensive metabolic panel
- Fasting glucose
- A1C
- Lipid panel
- Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH)
- Vitamin D
