The Extended Care Center at Valdez Medical Center provides long-term care nursing and rehabilitation services for patients who require daily medical assistance. We want our residents to feel comfortable, that’s why our center is made to feel like home. It’s a beautiful, special place where residents can take part in fun activities and build meaningful relationships with one another and the staff.
Our dedicated team of long-term care nurses, nutritional care workers and social service specialists is committed to fostering a rich spirit of community. We work hard to keep the center full of smiles, laughter and spontaneous happenings while providing the very best long-term nursing care possible.
The Extended Care Center has 10 private rooms and bathrooms. Each room is spacious and comfortable and includes a spectacular mountain view.
A bright solarium and gathering room provide space and opportunity for making new friends, visiting loved ones and enjoying social activities. To make our facility feel even more like home, we offer additional guest rooms and space for family gatherings.
Our long-term nursing care team knows that each one of our residents has unique needs. We bring together the resident, their family, medical team and our staff, to prepare a customized care plan that reflects each resident’s individual medical and personal care requirements. This plan may include rehabilitation services.
To help residents feel more at home we offer:
- Furniture and closets
- Free cable TV and a private telephone line in each room
- A personalized meal service that considers each resident’s medical care plan and dietary preferences
- Housekeeping and laundry services
- A wide variety of fun activities and social services
- Banking and mail services
At the Extended Care Center, we believe that our residents’ health improves when we support their social, emotional and spiritual needs. We encourage a community environment, that’s why we provide comprehensive activities and social services.
Our activities coordinator and social service representative work together to ensure we deliver a variety of services for residents and their loved ones. While our activities coordinator plans entertaining activities and events throughout the year, our social service representative coordinates care, services, appointments and necessary transportation for residents.
