April 16, 2015
Anchorage, Alaska – Providence Center for Childhood Development preschool children will take part in the 14th annual Mini Heart Run from 10 to 11 a.m. April 17 at the Providence Health Park courtyard.
The event – organized by the Providence Center for Childhood Development in partnership with the American Heart Association, Alaska Heart & Vascular Institute and the Alaska Children’s Heart Center – is designed to encourage children to stay active by promoting a heart-healthy lifestyle.
“Children have been preparing for the event by discussing healthy hearts and fitness in their classrooms, “said Margaret Bauer, director, Work Life Services, Providence Health & Services Alaska. “Additionally, Providence CCD staff members and families have been emphasizing the importance of fitness with a ‘Wednesday Night Fun Run’ and by promoting registration for the 2015 Alaska Heart Run family event.”
