Fraudulent telephone calls solicit donations for local hospital

Callers claim to be collecting money for ‘Children’s Hospital Relief Fund’. 

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Providence Health & Services Alaska has been notified that a number of Alaskans have received phone calls from solicitors requesting donations to a “Children’s Hospital Relief Fund.” This fund does not exist and these calls are fraudulent.

The callers do not identify themselves, only saying that they are collecting donations for the children’s hospital in Anchorage. Providence is not mentioned by-name.

These calls are in no way affiliated with Providence Health & Services Alaska or The Children’s Hospital at Providence. All fundraising efforts for Providence Alaska are conducted via the Providence Alaska Foundation, which does not utilize phone solicitation.

Do not provide the scammers with any of your personal identifying information or banking information. If you receive this scam phone call, please contact your local law enforcement.
