Providence Alaska Medical Center turns purple for World Prematurity Day

ANCHORAGE, AK – The exterior of Providence Alaska Medical Center will be illuminated with purple spotlights as part of a World Prematurity Day event at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17. World Prematurity Day is an annual observance led by the March of Dimes to raise awareness of global initiatives to address pre-term birth. Worldwide, 15 million babies are born preterm and more than a million die as a result.
Providence Alaska Medical Center will remain purple through Wednesday, Nov. 23.
