Treatment for cancer is difficult – let us assist you in your recovery
Improve and enhance your quality of life during cancer treatment and beyond through a prescriptive exercise rehabilitation program conducted at the Providence Cancer Center. Licensed physical therapists with extensive experience and training in oncology rehabilitation guide the program. Physician referral is required. We welcome participants at any time during their cancer treatment process – from initial cancer diagnosis through recovery and survivorship.
Strength and Endurance Class
The 20 session program includes initial assessment to establish an individualized exercise plan followed by up to 19 class sessions. The sessions combine aerobic exercise, muscle strengthening, range of motion exercises and relaxation techniques including use of guided imagery, meditation and affirmations.
- Morning class: 10 a.m. – noon, every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
- Afternoon class: 2:30 – 4:30 p.m., every Tuesdays and Thursday
Personalized one-on-one physical therapy services to improve strength, range of motion and endurance are available for those not suited to participation in a group class. Goals are based on assessment of individual needs and can include getting strong enough to safely participate in the group class.
Certified lymphedema therapists provide services using complete decongestive therapy techniques including evaluation, treatment and fitting for a compression garment.
